Welcome

  • Vanessa Aron welcomed newest members Tamera Allison and Laura Liz Lambdin. They both introduced themselves to the team.

Guest Speakers

  • Julia Weinert with MSHIELD – MSHIELD’s PCORI Letter of Intent (LOI) for a grant was sent six months ago for a study designed to test the impact of screening and referral methods, and it was accepted. Julia and her team realized that there was a different PCORI opportunity that fit the proposal better and could offer up a higher sum of money if awarded, so they withdrew the LOI to create a new one. The new LOI seeks five years of funding totaling twelve million dollars to provide resources to organizations working in cancer care and social-needs referrals.
  • The proposal is looking at patient satisfaction of how social referral services are delivered to patients. MSHIELD is requesting POQC/MOQC involvement if this is funded.

Agenda

  • Vision statement – Keli reviewed the Vision Statement meeting on 12/10/25 and the outcome of the Vision Statement, Core Values, and Purpose Statement.

POQC Vision Statement: Compassionate, quality cancer care for all.

  • Munson is hosting multiple session virtual Skills Day for non-clinical staff, and the date has not yet been selected. POQC members were asked if they are interested in sharing a story based on their own lived experiences about the impact of non-clinical staff during their cancer treatment. The goal is to highlight how roles such as front-desk staff, check-out staff, and other support positions shape the patient experience and are essential members of the care team. If an interested participant is identified, their availability can be taken into account when scheduling the event.
