Welcome

  • Welcome newest POQC member Christen Stott!
  • The Magic of MOQC and POQC
    • Analay Perez and Tim Guetterman were introduced to POQC. They will be working with everyone to start developing content for a publication about the wheres, whats, hows, whens, whys, and whos that make the magic of MOQC and POQC possible.

MOQC News

  • Core Values Session
    • Date: 3/21/25
    • Location: Livonia, MI
    • Notes: Before the meeting, a sample list of core values and a short article will be sent. For those who cannot attend the session, we will also be requesting your thoughts and feedback before the meeting so that it can be included.
  • Spring Regional Meetings
    • Just a reminder that the Spring Regional Meetings will be held virtually this year. They’ll be a little shorter, but still in the evening. Dates and times are included as the last page of these minutes.
    • Data slide reviews are only done for Biannual Meetings, so feel free to reach out if you have any questions beforehand.
  • June Biannual
    • Date: In-person on June 20th
    • Location: Plymouth, MI – St. John’s Golf & Conference Center
    • For over a 2-hour drive, hotel rooms can be provided.
    • It’s well in advance, but if you know you’re planning to attend, let Vanessa, Dave, or Karen know so that they have an idea of how many hotel rooms will be needed.
    • The agenda will include a session devoted to table discussions. “POQC in Your Practice” is a potential session.
  • POQC Payments Update
    • Payments should have come through for the last quarter of 2024, let Vanessa know if you have any questions.
    • Because of how processing is handled, payments sometimes come separately – for instance, gas mileage is a separate payment from hours. Some MOQC projects are also paid by different funds (example: financial navigation), so for some POQC members, there could be up to three separate payments. If you have any questions about those payments, don’t hesitate to reach out.
  • Demographics Survey
    • The Recruitment and Retention Workgroup developed a demographics survey that we release every two years. This survey will help us better understand the voices represented by our group and identify populations that may need more focus in recruitment efforts. POQC has an open door policy about recruitment, and this just helps us direct our course.
    • The survey is optional and anonymous.

  • Our Work
    • MOQC would like to acknowledge the recent administrative change in the United States and reassure you that the course of our work remains the same. We will continue to focus on this meaningful work we do together, MOQC and POQC, and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
  • Acceptance by Health Care Agent (Patient Advocate)
    • The state of Michigan requires your health care agent sign an acceptance form. We wanted to make sure that everyone knows that form is available on MOQC’s website, along with the Five Wishes guide.
  • Patient and Caregiver Resources Video
    • The second edit of the new Patient and Caregiver Resources video is complete. The final video will be posted on the website once it has been sent.
